4 inch gutters where the standard size in the USA through the late 1970's. It was also around this time period that the industry migrated to the now standard 5 inch K Style Gutter. However, 4" Gutters are still commonly found on older homes thought the USA, more so in lighter rain regions such as the west coast.

are NOT the standard 5" size.
